and Stephen W. Mazza
Tax Controversies: Practice and Procedure, 2nd ed. is a casebook designed for use in Tax Procedure courses and tax clinics.  It is suitable for both J.D. and LL.M. students.  The casebook combines a theoretical and practical discussion of the law with cases, as well as problems at the end of each chapter.  "Voluntary compliance" is a theme of the book.  The second edition has 16 chapters. 12 of the chapters focus on civil tax procedure and 2 focus on criminal tax procedure  The remaining 2 chapters cover tax research and representing tax clients.

The 2007 Update Letter, in conjunction with the 2006 Supplement, updates the second edition of the casebook through June 20, 2007.

We are currently working on the 3rd edition of the casebook, which is scheduled to be published in time for fall 2008 classes.
